The Tram

The tram.

At the beginning they were just waiting on the platform, it seemed to take an age, the daylight was fading into twilight with the sun rapidly pulling down over the hills, the station growing cold and quiet as the group of them wait patiently, glancing to the notice board seeing it flash up a warning about a 10 minute delay, what they don't mention and never need to is that they are winding the spring up for the carriage, it only goes once a day and once it gets going there is no delay at all on time of arrival to the trams destination, they simply put up the warning to apologise for the wait to go.

What they also always fail to mention is that the revolving platform is in fact the carriage and is why the platform is segmented, the cap of the carriage always opens at the start and end of the tracks for airing and cleaning. So, the waiting passengers must simply wait and belt themselves into the provided platform pod seats.

The pods are mostly made of a very solid hydroponic glass fibre material that is supported on an iron base with a steel frame. When the carriage must go the sheeted glass raises around the segment on a series of mechanical pulleys which secure the entire cart ready for its launch, the main reason for all start delays on the system is the spring loaded wind up start where the station engineers need to wind up the mechanism ready for release since all stations start generally at the base of a hill, the entire track of the system however is magnetically charged where the carriages are magnetised also to keep the perpetual o smooth but also to ensure that the carts never come off of the track or crash where at the same time there are firm arm connector rails that all carts are equipped with to keep them held to the trams rail line as the last and final defence for all emergencies where the underline of the track has cap grips that the cart can latch onto in the event of crashes and soft water piston brakes to stop the caution at all stations on the line.

However none of the passengers would ever know "that" much about the system since the majority of its intricate systems are all covered in fine neat Dutch thin lined brick in a cream soft yellow colour, that is thin enough for the workings to run but enough to keep the general appearance pleasant, which before they did this would cause passengers extreme nausea when travelling after dressing it up like this the rate of vomit per journey dropped to one in fifteen thousand trips, which was good enough for the Sydon engineers.
